Trailer Trash

Cruising YouTube, I found this killer Modest Mouse performance of "Trailer Trash:"

It's from a show in Kentucky during October of 2001. Isaac Brock inserts some lyrics during the breakdown that I've never heard before: "And you spend most of your life / looking for the adult you are / And you spend the rest of your life / looking for the child that you were."

I don't of anybody that uses a whammy bar quite the way Isaac Brock does. It struck me here because I haven't *seen* him play that much. To me, it's one of the most distinquitive parts of that band's sound.

This is totally unrelated musically, but it made me want to listen to "Trash" (lyrics--resizes your window, sorry). I thought the band had a video for it, but that homemade fan video is all I found. (But it's actually pretty great, although I thought that "singing Senator" referred to someone else. One photo is from Macalester!)

Pretty funny, I've not heard that before (not surprising, I suppose). I couldn't tell which photo was from Mac, probably since I don't know their campus that well.

Ashcroft's "Let the Eagle Soar" continues to be totally astounding. I wish the camera had panned to some of the audience's faces...

The Mac photo is of the Square Wheel Bike.

I'm afraid that the audience faces would've been enraptured.
