When I grow up, I want to be a noted lemur advocate, just like John Cleese.

You should move to Durham, which as far as I can tell is the lemur capital of North America (or at least the southeast US). There's cars everywhere with "I Heart Lemurs" bumperstickers (the heart is the symbol, not like "I Heart Huckabees"). This was very confusing at first. However, I think there's some sort of major lemur center at Duke, and apparently lots of North Carolinians work there or have visited the gift shop. We can look into going there when you come down next week! Also, it would be cool to spot John Cleese in one of those cars with the bumperstickers; I'll have to start watching.
I became aware of the Duke Lemur Center in my online lemur adventure last night. (The links in that post are to their website.) I saw that you can take tours of the center Monday - Saturday, but they are by appointment only. It also says they sometimes get booked up a couple weeks in advance...maybe we can try to go see ourselves some lemurs on Friday or before we leave town on Saturday?
I can't believe you're serious about this tour... but I want to go too! Let's try for Friday, mid afternoon. I think since Matt actually lives near there, he should be the one to call them up. Oh, yay!

Okay, whoops, I just remembered that the poster for "I Heart Huckabees" uses the heart symbol too. Rats. Did anyone actually see that movie?

I did see that movie. Wasn't bad, actually.

I saw that movie. I couldn't decide if it was pretty good or really terrible, which is interesting.
I really love the non sequiturness of this post, Teague.
That guy looks like an Aye Aye, which has been my AIM buddy Icon for forever! Man, I love nocturnal arboreals...
Okay, lemur fans... we're on for a tour at Duke on Saturday (3/17) at 11:00!
They will be all closed up on that Friday for a big veterinarian symposium (and it's spring break for the tour guides).
I'm sure some up close and personal lemur experiences will help us more fully understand these fascinating creatures.
Watch out for ghosts of lemur past!
Wow! We'll be headed through Asheville as well, where L.E.M.U.R. is centered... Thanks for the tip!
I'm starting to see lemur connections everywhere.
I especially like that L.E.M.U.R. uses the scientific method "at their discretion." Sociologists are not so different...
