DC Olympic Committee

The Olympics. Voting rights. Curling. This is brilliant.

You might also want to head over to their website to show your support of a good cause.

Oh, man...I've always found curling really intriguing for some reason. A guy in Madison wanted us to join a club (partly because you got free beer as a member). I totally should've...

I've always wanted to try it, too, actually. I think it'd be pretty fun.

Seeing as I'll probably be living in DC in time for Beijing 2008, I should probably start my ping pong training now...

Maybe they should try to get a leg up by buying some high-tech computerized Scottish curling brooms (found via Slate).

That's pretty ridiculous. As the veteran player alludes to, it sort of goes against the ethos of the sport. For me, a big part of the appeal is that it's so idiosyncratic and ancient, and reducing it to player stats kinda ruins it...

I think you're overlooking the basic awesomeness of a computerized broom. Computerized broom!
